Our Story

Founded in 1976, B&B Timber was established to meet the needs of the growing Southall community. What began as a family-run DIY and home décor store steadily developed into a full-service builders’ merchant, expanding in range and capability as customer needs evolved whilst maintaining DIY and home décor.

Today, the business is proudly run by father and son, Harpal Singh Bhachu and Bhuvraj Singh Bhachu, continuing a long-standing family tradition of reliable, customer-focused service.

About Us

B&B Timber & Builders Merchants is a family-run builders’ merchant in Southall, proudly serving the local community and the wider UK since 1976. Based on North Parade, the business has grown from a DIY and home décor store into a one-stop shop and warehouse as a trusted supplier of timber, building materials, and construction products for both trade and domestic customers.

With nearly 50 years of experience, B&B Timber is recognised for its dependable service and quality materials, supporting projects of all sizes — from home improvements to large-scale construction.

Family Heritage

The roots of B&B Timber extend beyond the UK to Nairobi, Kenya, where Ranjit Singh Bhachu supported his son Narinder Singh Bhachu in building a strong foundation in trade, entrepreneurship, and community values.

After settling in Southall, Narinder Singh Bhachu and his wife Jagjit Kaur Bhachu went on to found and run B&B Timber together in 1976, working side by side in the early years of the business. Their dedication and consistency established a builders’ merchant known locally for reliability and long-term customer relationships. The business then transitioned with Narinder Singh Bhachu and his brother running the partnership for 35 years whereby Harpal Singh Bhachu had joined the partnership growing the business to what it is today.

That legacy continues today carrying forward the same principles while supporting the evolving needs of modern construction and DIY customers.

As one of the first DIY and Builders’ merchants in Southall, B&B Timber has played a key role in supporting local development. In 2001, the business expanded to become the area’s largest warehouse for building materials, allowing it to serve trade professionals more effectively.

While DIY and Hardware customers remain an important part of the business, B&B Timber supports builders, contractors, developers, and tradespeople, providing the scale, expertise, and flexibility required for projects of every size. One-Stop Shop.
